A brand new star on Sydney’s gastronomy scene and a design-led destination is a 100% plant-based restaurant, located at the picturesque Woolloomooloo Wharf as a part of a designer hotel Ovolo.
Alibi is headed by Matthew Kenney, an award-winning plant-based chef from California. Recently listed as one of America’s Best New Chefs in Food and Vine Magazine, Kenney is the is the author of 12 cookbooks and the head of Matthew Kenney Cuisine and Matthew Kenney Culinary, a plant-based diet and wellness education business. At Alibi, Kenney is joining forces with Ovolo Group Executive Chef, Kasper Christensen. Opening a new restaurant initiates a significant update to the hotel’s breakfast and room service offering as well, which too will focus in major part on plant-based food.
Alibi is also Sydney’s latest go-to place for exquisite cocktails; from classic, boutique to signature cocktails. Dining menu features creative combinations of fresh, local, seasonal ingredients, and although based on a clean eating concept, Alibi does not compromise on taste. For this reason, an interesting twist on burgers, tacos and lasagne, are part of the dining menu, as well as some amazing guilty pleasures such as a beetroot mixture featuring chocolate and amazing concoction by the name of the Enchanted Forest.
