17 Mar Highlights from ISH and the Future of The Bathroom Experience
ISH is the world’s largest trade fair for The Bathroom Experience, Building Services, Energy, Air Conditioning Technology and renewable energies, and it is happening in Frankfurt right now. Market leaders from all over the world are showcasing their innovations and setting the trends for 2017. Claytan are there to ensure we are up to date with the industry trends and be inspired by the remarkable work present in the fair.
3 main industry trends stood out and are worth highlighting:
Technological innovation: A common topic on this year’s ISH, technological innovation seems to be shaping the future of the industry. A great example is the Duravit Bio-Tracer – an app-controlled toilet that analyzes urine.
Colors: Out with the black/white/beige, in with some color! These are colorful and flexible taps, as an example of this trend that should permeate the market for 2017.
Textures: Another trend that became very obvious at ISH 2017 was the presence of texture and it’s usage for functionality and aesthetic appeal, like this ceramic basin, coated with a special metallic glaze.
A few other interesting things shown at the fair:
A lamp in the bathroom wall? No! This is actually a lamp-shaped shower!
A lot of designers are going for a more natural look, like these taps that are shaped like stones:
Another example of textures being used to give aesthetic appeal is this matte shower in a unique chunky industrial design:
Lastly, this unique tap with a special aerator, designed to create an interesting water flow:
